After you’ve invested your time and hard earned money into your soapstone - and we've painstakingly crafted it to your precise specifications - you'd better believe we're going to do everything in our power to ensure it makes it from Vermont to your home, safe and sound. We offer a number of reliable delivery options. Simply select the one that you're most comfortable with.
If you plan to be in the neighborhood, you're welcome to pick up your soapstone here at our mill in Perkinsville, Vermont, Monday - Friday, between 8:00 am and 2:30 pm, by appointment. This option gives you the added pleasure of visiting our beautiful state. Make sure you stop in to say hello.
Because of its weight, we typically aren't able to ship our soapstone via small package delivery services, like FedEx, UPS, etc. So, our proven safe shipping method of choice is by one of our trusted Common Carrier services, with your soapstone carefully packed in its own custom crate. Our shipping track record is excellent but, because stuff happens, we urge you to carefully inspect your shipment before signing for it. If there is a problem, please let us know immediately.
Our Common Carrier shipping options include:
- Common Carrier to a Truck Terminal: We can ship to more than 500 truck terminals located across the US and Canada. Generally there is a terminal near every mid-to-large-sized city. Most terminals are open at least 12 hours/day on weekdays.
- Common Carrier to a Business Address: Generally it costs the same amount to ship to a business address as it does to a truck terminal. If you do business with a local lumberyard or building supply center, or if your place of business has a loading/unloading facility, you might want us to ship your project there.
- Common Carrier to a Private Residence: Residential deliveries cost approximately $150-$200 more than a terminal or business shipment, and you will have to provide the labor to get your project off the truck. We recommend residential deliveries only when the scheduling and additional expense will not be a problem.
